GROVER BEACH, CALIF. — California Fine Wire (CFW), a specialty wire maker, offers high-speed wire and ribbon electroplating. Providing a range of wires, coatings, diameters, lengths, ribbon shapes and finishes, CFW will deliver electroplated wire within five days, meeting specs and customer needs.

The service provides one-stop shopping for electroplated wire, which is more resistant to heat, oxidation and corrosion than bare wire. Customers can pick an electroplated or electroless plating process.

With over 1,000 metal and alloy wires ranging from aluminum to zirconium, rare wire varieties are available for application-specific needs.

Electroplating is offered with nickel, copper, silver, gold, platinum, aluminum, tin, tin-lead, cadmium, rhodium, palladium and palladium nickel in thicknesses ranging from 3 to 300 millionths of an inch.

CFW can also anodize aluminum and aluminum alloys, and electroplate aluminum or platinum onto wires and ribbons. Manufacturers typically electroplate wire with diameters from 5 to 20 thousandths of an inch, but CFW can electroplate wire with diameters from 8 ten-thousandths to 30 thousandths of an inch.

Small prototype quantities of wire or ribbon can be processed up to one-half-million feet. Longer wire lengths mean fewer time-consuming setups during the manufacturing process.
