Quality Overview
Quality at California Fine Wire is integrated into our manufacturing process and management systems. It is not an afterthought. Starting with high quality raw materials, wire is drawn using only the highest quality diamond dies in aqueous lubricants. Products are measured at every stage of processing for dimensions, physical properties and electrical properties. Additional testing, such as, for solderability or dielectric strength are performed as required by internal standards, industry specifications or customer requirements. Flat wire is produced by rolling dry in precision ground rolling mills. These are examples of California Fine Wire processes that are designed to produce the highest quality wire with the most accurate dimensions possible. In this way, we assure production of the highest and most consistent quality wire for demanding applications in the electronic, aerospace and medical industries. You will also find California Fine Wire products on the shelves of research laboratories throughout the world. These University and private research facilities rely on California Fine Wire products because they are the best.
Besides maintaining detailed procedures and consistent processing, California Fine Wire enjoys a highly skilled and experienced work force. Production of certain products, such as, wire that is smaller than 0.0007", requires experience and skill that cannot be captured in procedures. Our Technicians have decades of experience in the production of such products. It is our specialty.
Quality Assurance
California Fine Wire's Quality Department has responsibility for:
- Development of quality plans and control plans
- Approval of Purchased materials/incoming inspection
- Coordination of maintenance and calibration of measuring and test equipment
- Performance and evaluation of inspections and testing
- Procedures and instructions to insure high quality and consistent products
- Control of nonconforming products
- Maintenance of quality records
- Certification and training of personnel as related to the quality system
- Response to customer complaints regarding quality
- Initiation of Corrective and Preventive actions
- Initiation of Supplier Corrective Action Request
