Straightening may be performed on occasion to insure that spooled wire will meet customer straightness requirements. However, it is more commonly performed in the manufacture of “straight and cut” pieces.
California Fine Wire can provide most metals and alloys in a straightened, cut length form. Product size capability ranges from .0008" to 0.1875” diameter bare and 0.0008” – 0.020” diameter insulated. The available length ranges from 0.100” to 8 feet, depending on the diameter and material. The maximum length available for any particular item will depend on the type of material, the temper and the wire diameter.
Special processes can be supplied, including:
- Deburring
- Radius
- Chamfer
Special quantity packaging or piece identification can be done. For example, shear testing can be performed and pieces numbered to correlate the actual shear force value to an individual piece. Also, Statistical Process Control (SPC) reports of length variance can be provided on request.
Other custom processing of cut pieces is available as required upon customer request.
